most of all I can’t wait to have thighs like this.
I reblogged this from a dance blog I follow. This really upsets me and grosses me out about how we’re often taught to think about our bodies. I feel like a jerk hating on diet culture and skinniness obsession because I’ve never been overweight, but there have been things about my body that I have wanted to change at times in my life, and I hate the idea of people obsessing about needing to be other than they are in order to be good enough, and I am particularly disgusted by the idea of people feeding into that obsession in order to make money. I see SO many ads for things to eat, drink and do (all of which mean buy) in order to lose weight, and so many images in these ads showing before and after shots of women getting skinnier. I’m all for taking care of our bodies and being fit, but working with, not against, our bodies and our selves.
